How to Fix “Parse Error”: There is a problem parsing the package

This is a common problem with the Android Mobile Operating System, despite its popularity and the huge amount of contributors who work tirelessly to improve the operating system. A little issue does occur while attempting to install Android Apps on your device, you get a message such as “There is a Problem Parsing the Package”.

This error has little to do with Android has an OS, but more with the app itself.

Reasons for getting the Parse Error

• The app downloaded might be partly downloaded or the .apk file is corrupt
• Incompatible app might cause it, might be the device, or the OS version
• The most common cause is when you turn off ” Allow installation of apps from Unknown sources’

Fixing the issues require identifying what the probable cause is.

The first is to check if the app is properly downloaded, if not you will need to delete the file and download the app fully and properly. A corrupt .apk could also cause the error, the source of your app download is very important. Ensure you download from the Google Play Store, apps in the store have passed through checks and screening.

Incompatibility of your app and device happens frequently if you are using a mobile device and need to download an app to the tablet. This error can pop and prevent you from downloading. One effective way to check if it is compatibility issues, pick another device and attempt to install the app.

If you see the error and you are sure the source is unknown, then you will have to switch on the Allow installation of apps from unknown sources.  To turn it on follow the steps below.

• Go to your Device Setting Menu

• Scroll down and Click on Applications

• Now Check the Box of Unknown Sources to allow installation of non-market Applications
